A mommy's prayer

For those of you who do not know my oldest child, Cade, I have to fill you in a little about him. He is very talkative, very inquisitive, and can be pretty stubborn when he wants to be. This is the child that brings up while eating his Apple Jacks how the queen ant works and how she dies.... you never know what tidbit of information he has picked up and when he will want to discuss it, in full detail...on and on and on.

Anyway, He has been asking all types of questions lately about death, about the Holy Spirit, about heaven. Of course, he begins his interrogation when I least expect it. He is keeping his mommy on her toes these days. At bedtime when the last talk began....I had to take a deep breath and dive in. Does he get it? Am I explaining this right to an almost 5 year old? All I can do is believe that God loves him, that Jesus died to save him, that He made me Cade's mommy for a reason, and that these conversations are God-ordained. All I can do is trust that he hears from God's heart not my lips. Oh, how I pray for his salvation...how I pray for his little life to turn into a lifelong journey of serving the Lord. I know God has a plan...a perfect, perfect, set to bring glory to Him plan. I want so desperately to shine God's love and grace into my family's lives. I want more than anything to be transparent in my weakness while Jesus shines through. Being a parent is an amazing opportunity to shape a life....mine....and my child's....

If you have a moment to lift a prayer regarding Cade, that he would come to follow Jesus and would fall head over heels in love with the Lord and His word, I would appreciate it.

On another note, since the blogging just got started around our house, I will share a few pictures of Cade from the last few weeks. My Miss Prissy will be highlighted in my next post, promise.

These are from his Spring Fling at his preschool and from the last day of school with some of his art work. I had a sweet friend keep Syd so that I could spend these two mornings with Cade. I had a blast watching him interact with his friends. He wanted to show me everything...and, of course, explain how each piece of art was constructed...what a sweetheart...my little buddy...is he really about to be 5, going into kindergarten....really??? Wow....

Giving In...

Ok...I have officially given in. This is my first official blog. I have been visiting friends' blogs now for weeks, months. I have been telling myself that I didn't have time to figure all this out, much less keep it updated. But, is was so easy....even at 2 am....I know, I know....I can't sleep. So, I decided that I would just do it....and now I am typing away....I think I am going to like this.....

Why am I awake? I just spent three hours sewing and listening to Hillsong....there is nothing like worshipping after midnight..... sitting in your pjs, with no one awake or asking for milk, with your sewing machine flying....after listening to "Mighty to Save" about 10 times...who could sleep???? God is soooo good.

So, today has been a great day....it is funny. I woke up this morning feeling tired (another late night last night) and wondering how I would make it all day today with my Little Blessings running full blast. I had planned a stay at home day. Cade loves "play days - go nowhere days". We stayed in our pjs until 10 - just reading and playing. Cade and I snuggled a while....priceless, precious time. Then, we raised the garage doors, moved the cars, and played ALL day in the basement. It was AWESOME!! At one point, the kids were outside in the rain - puddle hopping. They kept looking at me to see if I would call them to come inside. I just watched them...almost in tears at how blessed I am. They are so precious, so fun. They just love life...to its fullest. They see the sheer joy in the tiniest of moments. Little reminders....God is in everything showing us His power and grace. Again, God is so good.
