My sweet husband is not a fly-by-the seat of his pants vacation planner. He mulls over ideas, checks costs, talks details, and works with his adoring wife to plan the trips our family takes. It is a process....a fun one...but one that evolves. BUT, the week before Memorial Day, he came home wanting to plan a getaway weekend. So, we headed to the lake with some special friends and had a GREAT time! My kiddos loved tubing! We had so much fun that we found a room at a nearby lodge, got up the next morning, and did it all again! (We couldn't catch Bear for the picture! He was enjoying the balcony too much!)

Then, off to Atlanta....we got in town just in time to drop off bags at a hotel and catch a Braves game - sooo fun!

We got up the next morning and headed to the Georgia Aquarium. We had a great day checking out all the cool fish and exploring the exhibits. The kiddos were so tired but had fun on our little adventure!

By far, the most amazing creature we saw all day: the 30 foot long whale shark. My oldest was in awe!!

We did the "penquin crawl" and enjoyed some up-close views of penquin life too!

Of course, no vacation is complete without ice cream!

So, we checked out of the hotel and headed out of town....and figured why not make another impromtu stop....by the American Girl store. Our girl was promised a doll for her birthday. So, we now have a doll that Little Miss just adores! She was soo excited!

Then, we headed home.

Tired. Blessed. Exhausted. Happy. What a great weekend - thanks to my sweet hubby who planned such a FUN getaway!
