We are rather warm here in Birmingham, Alabama. It has been close to 100 degrees for days now. We have been blessed with some rain the last couple of days though....what an answer to our prayers! Our yard sure needed it! Thank you, God!!
During last night's storm, we had the best time. Our power went off for 5 hours! No lights, no tv, no computer, no phones....just us. We lit some candles and the four of us just played. We had the best family time! I think we get so used to the background noise of the tv and radio that we do not realize the distraction from each other that they really are. In the quiet and dark, we really paid attention and enjoyed each other's company. There was not one complaint in our house all night...the kids loved it! Now, by bedtime, yes, we were warm. Luckily, the air came back on around midnight....ahhhhh....the comforts of modern technology. Lights out - no big deal. No tv - we are better off, I am sure. But, please leave my air on....no one likes to be sweaty while they sleep - yuk!
