Our Disney vacation

OK...I am finally attempting to post pictures from our Disney trip. After being asked over Thanksgiving to see pictures and being unable to provide any, I decided to get to work this week. With E out of town tonight and the kids watching Polar Express, I will attempt a brief overview of our "magical" week at Disney. Please understand...I will have to do this in installments....

We divided our drive down to Florida over two days. We left Saturday and drove most of our 9 hour drive, spent the night in Ocala, slept late, then drove the rest of the way on Sunday. We arrived by lunch at our resort, but the condo was not ready yet. So, we drove over to the parks to get an idea of where we were...the kids saw the sign to Disney and the pointing and squealing began. We then headed to Downtown Disney to look around and eat dinner at Dinasaur - very cool restaurant (C and S were totally overwhelmed). The picture of the kids on the Mickeys and Minnies was taken in a huge souvenier shop. They were beginning to see what the week was going to be like...fun, fun, fun...and lots of Mickey and Minnie!!

Monday - Animal Kingdom
The first characters we saw were Pluto and "Hotdog Diggety Dog" (S's name for Goofy). The kids couldn't wait to start getting autographs...so exciting....all week...they loved standing in line for autographs... or actually, they sat in their AWESOME stroller and drew pictures in their books. We went on the Safari ride - which was fun - we had to pause our ride when a rhino decided to stand in the road - they warned us he might even charge the Jeep - he spared us that excitement, but we enjoyed the animals none the less. While we took potty breaks, the kids found these drums and had a ball. We went to the Lion King show and the Finding Nemo show - both were amazing! They were chosen to participate in the Lion King show and shook their musical shakers all over that stage. Eric and C rode Dinasaur (scary roller coaster) and then rode Exhibition Everest (big roller coaster) - they had so much fun! My first day's observation: C was fearless - loved roller coasters and the thrill of any ride - what a great week we knew we had ahead of us!
Of course, after missing naps on Sat, Sun, and Mon, S and C were already tired! I was so glad I planned our short day at AK first. Obviously, we turned in REALLY early Monday to get ready for a long week. What a good big brother to lend a shoulder...
